MEET ME IN THE CLUB CAR   Mixed Media on Canvas   24" X 36"               $3,500

Many students attending both Southern Illinois University and University of Illinois got there via the Illinois Central Railroad that traveled from Chicago to New Orleans, often on the famous train bearing the name of the latter city. Typically at the start of the school year, or end of a break, I would either call, or would be called by a school mate to see what train they planned on taking back, with the conversation usually ending with the statement: "Meet me in the Club Car!" We more often than not never left that car the entire 5-hour trip back to SIU. Hopefully, someone would remind us that it was our stop and that we had better get off. The weird headdress on the man in the top center of the painting is a Saluki head mask. That Dawg was the SIU mascot.
